94/100 Editors’ Choice – Beaujolais Blanc 2022 – “Princesse Lieven” – Château Bellevue
“There are not many wines that deliver freshness and maturity in your glass at the same time, but winemaker Elodie Rousselot has achieved this feat. Gold in hue, the wine has a lux and alluring nose of golden apple, baked pear and sweet baking spice including clove topped with honeysuckle. Rich yet energetic on the palate, the wine delivers the best of two worlds with a well-integrated fruit and secondary-flavor structure that gives way to brioche on the finish.”

94/100 Editors’ Choice – Fleurie Château Bellevue 2021
Made form 60-year-old vines, the wine opens with black plum, cracked pink peppercorns, Darjeeling tea and fresh black cherry. A touch of mouthwatering acidity leads on the attack followed by supple, well-integrated tannins and field herbs that roll around in dried hay and summer-afternoon raspberry patch. This wine would pair well with Clams Casino, panko-encrusted chicken and ramen noodles.

93/100 – Morgon Grand Cras Château Bellevue 2022
This Morgon is substantial and structured and one that you could easily reach to by default to lift your spirits at the end of a day. Grown on a south-facing site at 265 meters, the ruby-hued wine has a nose of red cherry, strawberry, red plum and orchard blossom. Black-fruited tannins linger on the finish and seem to never end. Pair with a thin cut of steak, roasted chicken and seaweed salad.

93/100 Editors’ Choice – Morgon Côte du Py Château Bellevue 2022
This is the first vintage by talented winemaker and rising star, Elodie Rousselot, who has worked in Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace, Napa, Chile and Barossa Valley. Fill an evening with this beautiful Morgon that was grown on blue granite. Brioche and red-cherry tart open on the nose followed by black tea, black raspberry and black olive. Silky in texture, the wine boasts lively tannins and pomegranate on the finish.

91/100 – Morgon Les Charmes Château Bellevue 2022
Ruby hued and made from high-sloped, 40-year-old vines, this wine has a nose of red cherry, cranberry and bruised strawberry. The palate boasts a complementary restrained acidity that rides alongside hibiscus tea. The wine would be a versatile pairing partner with a mix of dishes served during an appetizer course because of its freshness.
