The Maison Jean Loron has magnificent historic presses, in very good condition. You can discover them during your wine tours, in our freshly renovated press room !<\/p>\n

To put you in the footsteps of these precious presses…<\/p>\n

We have a \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 grand point\u00a0\u00bb m\u00e2connais press, which appeared late in the 17th century and even in the 18th century. It was noticed by Jean Barbet and brought it to the Maison Jean Loron in 1976. \u00a0It owes its name to the popular language of M\u00e2con and its surroundings, the names of \u00ab point \u00bb and \u00ab poids \u00bb (weight) are a distortion of the words \u00abpoent\u00bb (powerful) and \u00abpoier\u00bb (power).<\/p>\n

Maison Jean Loron also has a “\u00e0 \u00e9cureuil” press. It dates from the end of the 18th century and its the evolution of the \u00ab \u00e0 roue perroquet \u00bb press. \u00a0It takes its name from the fact that, in order to spin the wheel with the aim of press the grapes, the men moved inside as a squirrel would do in a drum!<\/p>\n
