A few hours after the end of the harvest, Jean-Pierre Rodet, the chief oenologist of the Maison, gives his impressions on the harvest and tasting of the first juices.<\/p>\n

“After a very hot pre-harvest period, the rain just before the harvest was extremely beneficial for the Chardonnay from M\u00e2connais and the Gamay Noir from Beaujolais. The Chardonnay
\npresented a perfect sanitary condition with normal yields: the clusters were numerous but short. The first juices tasted allow us to anticipate very pleasant wines on the fruit with typicity.<\/p>\n

Concerning the Beaujolais, the harvest conditions, mainly manual, were excellent. Despite very limited harvest in the areas hit by hailtstorms (Moulin-A-Vent, Fleurie and Morgon),
\nthe other sectors provided beautiful clusters. The quality of the vintage 2017 will certainly sit between 2015 and 2016: more approachable than 2015, vintage carved for ageing wines, and deeper than 2016, vintage fruity and very pleasant.<\/p>\n
