5 Days To Go

6 September 2019

After a somewhat turbulent year where frost episodes, strong winds and heat waves interspersed, the summer finally kept all its promises.

Fortunately, the frost only affected some plots of southern Beaujolais and the vine is in the process of veraison: the skin of the grapes is coloring since the beginning of August, which is rather very sunny.

For the Gamay, the comparison with the year 2014 is maintained with 2014, in terms of sugar content but the acidity is much lower this year.

Concerning the chardonnays, the pulp presents a nice balance between sugar and acidity. The vegetal notes are absent and the varietal aromas are already present.

The harvest is announced for September 10 or 11, a normal date for our region, and should last about 2 weeks.

Thus the Jean Loron 2019 harvest appears beautiful and promising and this despite a reduced amount compared to the usual yields in the region.
