“The Great Gamays of Beaujolais Through the Test of Time”

In the February 2026 issue of La Revue du Vin de France, Pierre Vila Palleja published a major feature entitled “The Great Gamays of Beaujolais Put to the Test of Time.”
Our 1976 Fleurie from Domaines Loron stood out as a “vertiginous bottle.”

A reminder of the conditions of this extraordinary vintage: it is considered the first heatwave vintage. “The combination of high temperatures and lack of water left a lasting impression. As a result, many winegrowers were caught off guard by the early harvests, at the end of August. Sometimes marked by water stress, millerandage and firm tannins, the wines are today showing remarkable ageing potential.”
