The Great Chardonnays
“Mâconnais: Burgundy’s most exciting vineyard!”—that’s the headline currently gracing the cover of the French magazine La Revue du Vin de France. “Head south, towards Mâcon, to this cradle that every lover of great Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Gamays can no longer ignore.”
Indeed, the Auvigue Estates are proud to “pay tribute to the diversity of wines from the region,” a legacy their ancestors helped champion with the development of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation.
Beyond the meticulous work carried out by the team in the cellar and the vineyards, Auvigue Estates also, one must admit, provide a wonderful setting for vinifying and aging white wines. The thick stone walls of this former 12th-century church still reveal ribbed vaults, a dome, and paintings!
