Mont Brouilly : Ranked among the iconic natural and tourist landmarks of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Grand Tour, alongside Mont Blanc!

Mont Brouilly is now officially listed among the 43 must-see natural and tourist sites of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Grand Tour, alongside Mont Blanc.

While these two summits now share this distinction, they are also connected by a common geological history. During the formation of the Alps, the tectonic movements that gave rise to Mont Blanc also shaped the hills of Beaujolais, with Mont Brouilly standing as one of the most remarkable witnesses to this ancient geological story.

Furthermore, since 2018, Mont Brouilly’s designation as an UNESCO Global Geopark has highlighted the richness and uniqueness of its geological heritage. Its famous “blue stones”, formed through volcanic and metamorphic events more than 350 million years ago, are among its most distinctive features.

🍷 At the Château de La Terrière, part of the Domaines Loron, we are fortunate to cultivate our Brouilly vineyards on these exceptional terroirs, where this ancient geological history continues to be expressed through our wines.
