2021 deserved commitment and faith !

D-day : It’s Harvest time, what about the vintage 2021 ?
The year 2021 began with a rather cold and dry weather until the month of April. But rapidly, and right at the beginning of the vine’s vegetative growth, this vintage revealed to be one of replenishment of the soil’s water reserves, strained in 2020.
A hot spell late March, then temperature drop on the 5th of April with extremely severe morning frost during 4 terrible days. Spring and summer continue to be cool and very wet. The vine and grass grow rapidly during the entire season, testing the winegrowers’ courage and tenacity. Violent hail storms late June on certain areas of Beaujolais Villages, Pouilly- Fuissé and south mâconnais undermine once again yield potential.
Fortunately, the sun returns after August 12th along with a light breeze from the north. The ripening stage benefits from ideal conditions between cool nights and warm days. The grapes, so far spared from this tumultuous year, are healthy and show a very nice aromatic and polyphenolic potential once ripe.
