Mâconnais and Beaujolais: the ideal two-day itinerary

Day 1: Begin your stay with the must-see Rock of Solutré, designated a Grand Site de France. This accessible climb immediately immerses you in the identity of the region, offering spectacular views over the vineyards of the Mâconnais. For lunch, take a seat at L’Ô des Vignes. This refined restaurant offers precise and elegant cuisine, perfectly paired with the wines of the Mâconnais. The restaurant is located just a few meters from your first immersive stop at a wine estate: Domaines Auvigue. Here, everything is designed to showcase the great white wines of the Mâconnais, especially Pouilly-Fuissé, as you will be right in the heart of the appellation.

Then continue with a visit to Maison Jean Loron, located on the border between Beaujolais and Mâconnais. The tasting may introduce you to 8 of the 10 Beaujolais crus through the wines of Domaines Loron. For dinner, consider excellent spots such as Le Coq à Juliénas or Le Cep. End the day with a night at Château Bellevue – Domaines Loron. the Château offers a timeless haven of relaxation.

Day 2: After a night in a bucolic setting, start your day with a visit and tasting at Château Bellevue – Domaines Loron. The estate cultivates 24 hectares of vineyards and vinifies its wines in a stunning winery fully renovated in 2009. More than just a wine estate, Château Bellevue is also a true place to live, surrounded by one of the region’s most beautiful parks, which can be explored independently with a dedicated visitor booklet. Continue to the Table d’orientation de Morgon. This exceptional viewpoint offers a perfect reading of the landscape: Château Bellevue, the Côte du Py, and the iconic rolling hills of Beaujolais fully reveal themselves here. Then head towards Mont Brouilly for an accessible hike, ideal for a picnic.
